Mobile mechanics

Booking software for mobile bike mechanics.

Customers enter their address and only see the days you're in their area. Each day's jobs become one route for the van, and the customer gets a tracking link with a live ETA.

It works with a shop or without one. Run mobile on its own, or alongside drop-offs, hire delivery and pop-up clinics from the same calendar.

What's in the box

Service areas you can keep

Set the areas you cover as radius rings, shapes on a map or a list of postcodes. The customer's address is checked before the booking goes through.

Days by area

Give each area its own working days and blackout dates, so Tuesdays can be the north side and Thursdays the coast. The driving clusters itself.

Travel fees you set

A flat fee per area, or distance tiers from your base, charged one way or return. Free close to home and a call-out further away is one setup.

Room to drive

Leave a fixed gap either side of every appointment, or let Velobook work out the drive between jobs from your average speed. It uses whichever is longer.

Route the day, then hand it over

One run in a sensible order, keeping the times you've promised, inside your shift. Start it from the depot or a mechanic's home, and open it in Google Maps or send it to the van's phone by QR code.

Customers know you're coming

A reminder before the visit, a one-tap arrival update from the van, and a tracking link with a live ETA.

Collect and return

For the jobs that won't happen on a driveway. Collect the bike, fix it at base and bring it back, with both trips added to the routed day.

Pop-up clinics

Run a morning at a cafe or a market: a named location, dated sessions with their own cap and host mechanic, and a repeat-weekly option. No driving between jobs.

Paid without a counter

Take payment or a deposit at booking through your own Stripe or Square account. For work you can't price sight unseen, send a quote the customer approves and pays from their phone.

How it works

For your customers

  1. 1

    Enter their address

Your booking link checks it against your areas and shows the travel fee, if there is one.

  2. 2

    Pick a day that suits

Only the days you're in their area are offered.

  3. 3

    Describe the job

The bike and what's wrong with it, so you know what to bring.

  4. 4

    Watch you arrive

A reminder, an arrival update and a tracking link with a live ETA.

For the shop

  1. 1

    Draw your areas

Set where you go, which days you go there and what the trip costs.

  2. 2

    Route the day

One click puts the day's stops in order and draws them on a map, with any hire drop-offs and pick-ups included.

  3. 3

    Hand it to the driver

Open the run in Google Maps or send it to the van's phone, then work through the stops.

Questions shops ask

Do I need a shop to use Velobook?

No. Switch off counter drop-offs if you have no premises, and customers only see the options you offer. You can also run mobile alongside a shop, and customers pick between them when they book.

Can I cover different areas on different days?

Yes. Each area has its own working days. Turn on the address step and the calendar stays hidden until the customer enters an address, then shows only that area's days.

How do travel fees work?

Choose a flat fee per area, or distance tiers measured from your shop address, charged one way or return. You can offer a no-fee counter drop-off alongside them.

Does it work with more than one mechanic?

Yes. A booking in an area with one technician arrives assigned, and each person can start their run from their own home address.

Can I stop a booking I can't finish on site?

Yes. A bike-suitability check runs at booking, with your own list of e-bike systems you will and won't touch, and it either warns the customer or stops the booking.

Can I track parts on the van?

Yes. Keep the counts yourself, split by location if you run a van. Parts come off when a job finishes.

Can I deliver hire bikes on the same run?

Yes. Hire drop-offs and pick-ups join the routed day alongside your repairs, and servicing and hire can share one set of areas.

What does it cost?

A dollar a booking, priced locally, capped at 100 a month, with no monthly fee and every feature included. A quiet week costs almost nothing, and we take no cut of what customers pay you.
