How Velobook routes your day.

Every shop that delivers bikes, or sends a mechanic out to a driveway, has the same small daily puzzle: given a dozen stops, each with an address and a time window, what's the order that wastes the least of the day? Done by hand it's a whiteboard and a good guess. Done properly it's a vehicle-routing problem, and those are genuinely hard to solve well.

So we didn't build our own. We partnered with Tarot Analytics, a routing specialist whose optimiser does exactly this, and wired it into the Map. When you tap Route my day, Velobook gathers the day's drop-offs, pick-ups, and mobile repairs, sends each stop's location, time window, and how long it'll take, and gets back a sequence: which stop first, which last, and roughly when you'll reach each one.

The part we're quietly proud of is that a shop never sees any of it. There's no account to create, no API key to paste, no separate routing bill. Velobook holds one relationship with Tarot and resells the capability to every shop as a platform service, so routing is simply on. A shop that already has its own routing account can bring it, but almost nobody needs to.

We draw the result on real roads, not straight lines between pins, using an open routing engine for the road geometry so the map shows the actual drive and its real distance and time. And because the optimiser only decides order and timing, the turn-by-turn hand-off goes to the driver's own maps app, where the navigation already lives.

If routing ever can't be reached, nothing breaks. The day still plans itself in sensible window-time order and the map still draws. The optimiser makes a good day better; it's never the thing standing between you and your first stop.
