What is free to hire on a day

Bookings → Available shows how many of each hire bike, in each size, are free on any day, using the same count customers see when they book.

Last updated 1 October 2026

When someone rings to ask what you have for Saturday, open Bookings and switch the view from List to Available. It shows only for shops that offer hire.

Reading it

  • One day at a time. Step with the arrows, pick a date, or go back to Today. You can look up to 90 days ahead
  • A card per hire bike, headed with how many are free out of how many you have
  • A row per size with a badge: green when all are free, yellow when some are, red when none are. A bike with no sizes shows All sizes
  • When the morning and afternoon differ, the row shows both, so you can offer a half day when the full day is taken
  • Once you add individual bikes to an item under Bikes & extras (each with its serial, condition and service history), availability counts those bikes instead of Units owned. Scan a bike's QR sticker at handover to match it to the hire

The count is free for the whole day, the same number customers see on your booking page. It already allows for hires waiting on payment and each bike's turnaround time.

This view is for looking only. To book what is free, use New booking → Hire, covered in taking a hire over the phone. To see which bikes are physically in or out right now, use Fleet.
