Repair videos

Upload a short clip from the job and email the customer a private link to watch it, or to approve extra work at a price you name.

Last updated 2 September 2026

From a booking, upload a short clip and Velobook emails the customer a private watch link. No app, no sign-in: the link is the key, the same as a quote link.

Two kinds of video

  • An update only. Leave Extra work required unticked. The customer's page plays the video and says no action is needed.
  • For approval. Tick Extra work required and put in an approximate price. The page asks the customer to approve or decline that work.

Send one

  1. 1Open the booking and go to its Attachments tab. Repair videos live under the photos.
  2. 2Pick the clip and add an optional title and notes for the customer.
  3. 3Tick Extra work required if you need a decision, and enter the approximate price.
  4. 4Upload + email customer. If the email goes missing, resend it from the video's card.

What the customer sees

  • A page branded as your shop, with the video, your notes and, for approvals, the price in large type
  • Approve authorises approximately that amount. Decline (finish original work only) means exactly that, and the page says so before they confirm
  • They can add a note either way. No extra work happens until they approve
  • The amount they approved is recorded on the video
One answer per link

Once the customer has answered, the page locks to a confirmation and tells them to call the shop if anything changes. On the booking, the video's card shows awaiting reply, approved with the amount, or declined.

Video or quote?

A video approval is a fast yes or no on one piece of extra work at a rough price. For itemised lines, tax and online payment, build a quote. A video you have shared can also appear on the quote page as evidence.
