Checking phone numbers and addresses

Your booking page asks for a phone number that can be dialled and a full street address. Staff get the same checks as warnings they can save past.

A mistyped number or a suburb with no street means a text that never arrives or a mechanic who cannot find the house. Velobook checks both as they are typed.

On your booking page

  • The phone number has to be a real number. One with too few or too many digits, or one that is not a valid number for its country, is refused with a message asking the customer to check the digits
  • A number typed without a country code is checked against your shop's country, so local formats such as 0412 345 678 are fine
  • Where you need an address, for work at the customer's place or a pickup, the customer has to pick a full street address from the suggestions, including the house number. A named house counts. A street, suburb or town on its own does not
  • Addresses already saved on the customer's profile are not refused

When staff book

On New booking, the same checks show as warnings, and the job still saves. You might only have half the number on the phone, and that is better than no booking. Fix the details before a text or a driver needs them.
