The Message us button

A button for your own website that lets a visitor message your shop. Messages land in your Inbox, and your reply goes back by email or text.

Last updated 2 September 2026

The Message us button sits on your website. A visitor taps it, leaves their name, one way to reach them and their message, and it lands in Messaging → Inbox as a normal conversation. It is not live chat: someone who messaged at 9pm gets your answer in the morning.

Turn it on

  1. 1Open Integrations → Website embed and find the Message us button card.
  2. 2Tick Show the button on my website.
  3. 3Write a Greeting, the first line a visitor reads. Fill in When you usually reply to set an expectation; it shows under your greeting, on the sent screen, and in the visitor's email. Blank promises nothing.
  4. 4Choose which contact details you accept: an email address, a phone number, or both.
  5. 5Copy the snippet and paste it once on your site, before the closing body tag, then save.
  • The button picks up your shop name and brand colour
  • The snippet works on any website: WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace, a hand-built site. Everything above is controlled from the panel; you never touch the snippet again
Only accept phone numbers if you can text

Turn phone off if texting is not switched on, or you will collect messages you can only answer by picking up the phone.

What the visitor gets

A visitor who leaves an email gets a copy of their message straight away, with a private link to their own conversation page. That page shows the whole thread, repeats your reply-time line, and lets them write back.

Where you answer

The thread sits in your Inbox like any other. Your reply goes out by email or text, whichever the visitor gave. A visitor whose email or phone matches an existing customer joins up with their history.

Off means off

Off is enforced on our side: while the box is unticked the button does not appear and messages are refused, even if the snippet is still on your site.
