Delivered, awaiting payment

An optional stage for a bike that is back with the customer but not paid for yet. The job closes itself when the balance is paid.

Last updated 1 October 2026

Sometimes the bike goes home before the money comes in: a mobile mechanic hands it over and the customer pays by bank transfer later, or nobody is home at drop-off. Marking the job Complete says it is settled, and leaving it at Ready says the bike is still with you. Delivered, awaiting payment says what actually happened.

Switching it on

It is off until you turn it on. Go to Job card setup, find the Job stages card, and switch on Delivered, awaiting payment stage.

Using it

  • Choose it from the job card's stage control, under Move to. The next-stage button from Ready still goes straight to Complete
  • On a collect & return job it reads Returned, awaiting payment, and also marks the bike as returned, so it drops off your routes
  • The Workboard gets an Awaiting payment column before Complete. Jobs in it carry over from day to day until they are paid
  • The customer is not sent anything when a job moves into this stage

How it closes

Record a payment on the job card that clears the balance, or take it by card through Square from the job card, and the job moves to Complete by itself. Anything that happens on completion, such as sending the sale to your point of sale, happens then.

If the customer pays online with a payment link instead, the job does not close by itself: once the payment shows on the job card, move it to Complete. See taking payment for the ways a job can be paid.
