Multi-day rentals
Hire items out by the day or week with combined pricing and a per-item maximum hire length.

Rentals span multiple days, with combined daily and weekly pricing so a week-long hire is not just seven times the day rate. Use them for demo bikes, tools, e-bikes, or anything a customer takes away and brings back.
Set up a rental
- 1Open Catalogue → Rentals and choose New item.
- 2Set the daily rate and, if you offer one, a weekly rate that kicks in for longer hires.
- 3Set a maximum hire length in days so nothing gets booked out indefinitely.
- 4Save.
How pricing combines
When a customer picks their dates, Velobook works out the best combination of whole weeks and remaining days for that span, so a six-day hire and an eight-day hire are each priced sensibly rather than billed as raw day counts.
Availability
An item that is out on hire is not available for the same dates, so you will not double-book your only demo bike. Unavailable days are greyed out for the customer, and the maximum hire length keeps long holds from blocking the calendar.
Same-day hires
A daily hire used to need an overnight. You can now allow a same-day hire, out and back on the one date and priced as a full day, so a morning-to-evening loan does not have to be booked as two days. Turn on same-day return in Rental settings; on the calendar the customer taps the pickup day a second time to close the loop.
Pick the word your shop uses with the hire/rent toggle under Booking page. The one choice re-words the whole customer rental flow, along with the rental emails and texts, to match. It defaults to "hire", the usual word in Australia and the UK.
Rentals can be paid online at booking, with an optional deposit, through your connected payment provider. Or leave online payment off and take payment at your counter on collection. For higher-value kit, take an ID or your own deposit on handover.
