Reminders: email and SMS
Confirmations, reminders, and ready-for-collection notices, sent automatically.
Last updated 29 June 2026
Velobook sends the messages that keep a booking on track without you lifting a finger: a confirmation when the booking is made, a reminder before the day, and a notice when a drop-off is ready to collect.
Email is on by default
Every booking gets email confirmations, reminders, and cancellation notices automatically. They carry your shop name and include the customer's manage link so they can reschedule or cancel from the message itself. You can fine-tune which emails go out if you need to.
SMS for the time-sensitive ones
Texts currently send to Australian, UK, US and Canadian mobile numbers. We're clearing sender approval market by market, and other regions follow as each one lands. Email confirmations and reminders work everywhere in the meantime.
SMS is available for transactional messages such as booking confirmations, reminders, reschedules, and cancellations, where a text lands faster than an email. Marketing and promotional messages stay on email; SMS is reserved for messages about a customer's own booking. SMS is off until you switch it on, and it is billed separately.
Keep texts to booking-related updates. Using SMS for promotions risks compliance problems and erodes the trust that makes a reminder text useful in the first place.
What goes out, and when
- Confirmation as soon as the booking is made.
- Reminder before the booking day or class (two by default: one a week before, one 24 hours before).
- Ready for collection when you mark a drop-off done. This one is email.
- Cancellation notice if the booking is cancelled by either side.
