The network front desk
Bookings, the Workboard, Messages, Fleet and Inventory at network scale: views over every shop, each one click from acting in the shop itself.
Last updated 2 September 2026
A network parent's front desk matches a shop's, with one rule: these are reading views. Each shows every shop at once, and when you need to act (reply, reassign, reschedule), a click hands you into the owning shop's admin. The one exception is Fleet, which owns the network's bike transfers.
Bookings
- Bookings is one calendar laned by store rather than by mechanic
- Day shows one column per store with time down the side, Week one row per store across seven days, and List the same bookings as a flat list
- Timed services sit on the clock; multi-day hires sit in an all-day strip
The calendar shows and does not move. Dragging a booking between stores would be a different shop's job, so there is no such operation. Reschedule from the shop's own Schedule.
Workboard
- The Workboard lanes every open service job across every shop by stage: Booked, In progress, Waiting on parts, Waiting on approval and Ready for pickup. Finished and declined jobs drop off
- Each card carries the customer, the date (orange once past), the service, the shop and the assigned mechanic. Clicking it opens the job in the owning shop
- A filter row narrows the board to one shop
- Visiting work is called out on the card. At X means a sibling shop accepted the job. Sent to X, not answered means nobody has accepted it, so nobody is working on it
Messages
- Messages is a roll-up, not an inbox: there is no reply box. A reply leaves on a shop's own number, address and signature, and the parent has none
- Each row links into that shop's own Inbox, landing on the thread
- Filters lead with Needs a reply and Failed to send, with Unread and All behind them
- Per-shop count cards at the top double as filters
Fleet
- Fleet lists every hire bike across every shop, grouped by shop, in the same language as a shop's own Fleet screen: In, Out, Overdue and Maintenance, with a reserved bike noted on its row and a detail sheet behind every bike
- This is the network's one write page. Move a bike starts a transfer between shops; transfers on the road sit at the top under In transit, and each is marked Received when the bike arrives, or cancelled
- A Move can also start from a rebalance suggestion on the Network dashboard
Inventory
- Inventory answers one question: which shop has one? It searches every shop's stock and is read-only
- Browsing and ordering stay on each shop's own Inventory tab
- Parts already committed to open jobs count against availability, and a stock reading older than 24 hours shows as unknown
