Routing jobs to the right mechanic

Set what each mechanic can do and prefers, and Velobook routes jobs to the right person without pushing anyone past their daily limit.

Velobook uses what you tell it about your team to route each booking to a good mechanic, and warns you before you overload someone. It assists the assignment; it never builds your roster.

Tell Velobook who does what

  • Open a staff member under the Team tab
  • For each service, set a Can do / Prefers level: off for work they do not take, Can do for work they pick up, Prefers for work you would rather send their way
  • A service can carry required skills, so only mechanics with the skill count as qualified

The same staff record holds each mechanic's working days and maximum bookings per day. Velobook reads all of it when it assigns a job.

How auto-assignment chooses

  • A mechanic who prefers the service comes first, then one who can do it.
  • It respects each mechanic's working days.
  • It respects each mechanic's maximum bookings per day, so nobody at their cap is auto-assigned more.

Assigning by hand stays in your control

  • Assign a job yourself by dragging it on the calendar or using the staff picker on the booking
  • Velobook shows a non-blocking warning if the mechanic is over their daily limit or lacks a skill the service needs, then does what you told it
