Job reference codes

Every booking gets a short code like JOB-0007, shared with the customer, so either side can find a job fast. The letters in front are yours to change.

Every booking gets a short reference like JOB-0007: assigned when the booking is created, unique and sequential within your shop. Purchase orders carry the same style (PO-0007).

Where it shows

  • At the top of the booking's detail in the admin, and on every row of the Bookings list.
  • On the Ordering board, so a job and the parts it is waiting on line up under one reference.
  • For the customer: on their confirmation email, on screen when they book, and on their booking page. The number they quote is the number you type into search.
  • On the printed job card. See printing job cards.

Your own letters

  • On Admin → Job card setup, the Job number card has a Prefix field. Set it to RA and new jobs read RA-0042 instead of JOB-0042.
  • Jobs already booked keep their number, because a customer may have written it on a carton. The counter carries on, so nothing is reused.
