Job reference codes

Every booking gets a short code like JOB-0007, so you and your team can find a job fast on the phone or in search.

Last updated 22 July 2026

Every booking is given a short, human-readable reference in the form JOB-0007. It is assigned automatically when the booking is created, and is unique and sequential within your shop, so it is easy to read out over the phone, write on a card, or type into search. Purchase orders carry the same style of code (PO-0007).

Where it shows

  • At the top of the booking's detail in the admin, leading the header.
  • On the Ordering board, so a job and the parts it is waiting on line up under one reference.
A shop-side reference for now

Job codes are for you and your team: they make a job quick to find and talk about, and they are not shown to customers in emails or on the tracker yet. When a customer rings about "the black gravel bike", the code is how the front desk pulls it up.
