People who share an email address

Two people booking under one email are one customer in Velobook. Add the second person's name so a search for either name finds them.

Last updated 1 October 2026

Velobook knows a customer by their email address. When a partner or a parent books under the same email, the booking joins the customer already saved, under the saved name. Without help, a search for the second person's name finds nothing.

Adding the other name

When a booking's name is different from the saved customer's, the job card's customer details show a prompt: booked as one name, saved to another. Choose Add [name] to this customer and searching either name finds them from then on. Not now hides the prompt for this visit only; it asks again next time.

  • Anyone who can open the job card can add the name
  • The customer list shows the extra names after the customer's name, and the customer's page says Also books as
  • Search, in the customer list and elsewhere, matches other names too
  • The customer export has an Other names column
  • Merging two customers keeps both customers' names. Erasing a customer removes their other names with everything else
There is no split

People who share an email stay one customer, with one history. If they really are separate customers, ask one of them to book with their own email address.
